I have IA because I lend my lab report to my friend...I'm pretty scared now...can I still apply?🙁

They're going to see you cheated (which is what you did, regardless of how you spin it, even though you were assisting your friend in cheating and not directly being the culprit). Can you still apply? Sure. But it's not going to be easy.

I got a warning and that's the consequence. But I guess it doesn't matter since it's a serious academic related IA, I prob won't have a chance now.

I would claim this individual from the lab asked to utilize my lab as a reference for formatting and maybe get data if he/she was in my same group as me. Did you tell the person not to plagiarize from you explicitly? I would never take an IA without going down with a fight. This is assuming you weren't knowingly helping them cheat of course.

You can apply, and you might even get an interview, but schools take cheating very seriously. If you can get a really good LOR form the professor of the class where you got the IA, and have exemplary behavior everywhere else, then there are AdCom members who believe in redemption. The problem is that you should have known what you were doing was wrong in the first place.

i don't think the professor will even be willing to write me a LOR since I got an IA. In that case, I should just be realistic and not to hope for any acceptance right?

Definitely apply. I wouldn't count you out completely, but you do need to take responsibility and show maturity in your interview.

How long ago was this IA? Just make sure that all of your other stats are in great shape and show that you have learned from the incident and some schools may look past this. Again the real key here is to show growth from the experience. Part of this is to show that you have taken full responsibility for your actions. That is to not try to water down the situation by simply stating "I lent my lab report to a friend." If you make it to the interview rounds, there is a high chance you will be grilled on this IA, at which point you will need to take full ownership and state exactly what happened if you are to have a real shot at admissions. -Admissions to medicine

Who gave the warning, the professor or the university/college? Is there anything in writing?
