insufficient shadowing experience... CDN

Great clinical & GPA. With a good MCAT, you'll get consideration but little shadowing could hurt. OTOH, 20 hrs isn't really that bad. Some people would suggest a minimum of 40 hrs but w/ 8 yrs of clinical experience, I think you could make a good argument for your knowledge of the medical profession w/o the need for more than 20 hrs of shadowing.

I definitely wouldn't worry about not having a lot of shadowing since you have so much clinical experience. I only had like 25 hours of shadowing, and quite a bit of clinical experience with a good gpa and decent mcat and got accepted. You could try to get the 40 hours if you really really wanted to, but I wouldnt stress over it. As long as you can articulate what you learned from the dr you shadowed (ie: that you understand what its like to be a dr), you should be OK.

i had no shadowing what so ever
have 2 acceptances and waiting to hear back from 4 other interviews so I don't think it really hurt me that much

You're better off with the clinical experience anyway. Better to get your own hands dirty than watch someone else do it.

My situation: 0 shadowing and 3 acceptances to very good schools, but I am a US citizen.

You will be fine. But if you can and you are worried, why don't you try shadowing someone in the next couple of months? If only to say you did? I can't tell you how many things I've done in this application cycle only to make myself feel better. (example: Kaplan MCAT course.)

I had no shadowing at all and have been fairly successful so far. Clinical experiences are far more important. You will be fine.
