Hi! I'm comparing two Summer Orgo programs which have dates that work for me. Has anyone taken the Harvard Intensive Summer Orgo program and know how difficult it tends to be to get an A/A-? It worries me that all eight credit hours are reported under a single grade. The other program is through UC Riverside and is 9 weeks (instead of 7) and has three modules with separate labs reported.

Also, I attend another T5 uni and am wondering if it would look bad to do orgo over the summer somewhere else as a visiting student. (I would do it here at my home institution over the summer but due to a program I cannot). I get the risks of taking orgo in a condensed/rapid manner but I would prepare ahead and also would not have other commitments. Which option seems like the most strategic/optimal pre-med wise? Thanks.

Yeah, I have been in contact with my advisors here at my school. Either way is fine, but I just would prefer the program where it is easier to get a good grade.

I took the normal orgo course at HES, but know some folks who took the summer one. It seems very possible to do well, but you certainly need to be committed to it. If Sirinya Matchacheep is teaching it you will be in excellent hands. Her office hours are wonderful and extremely helpful. It's a difficult class, but all of the resources needed to succeed are available, and Profs & TAs are very invested in your success.
