Interesting Article in Time

It's about the recent mishaps in clinical trials and about new changes in oversight committees and proposed legislation to that effect. The picutre on the cover is a little misleading (cages? Nobody is forcing you into a clinical trial), but it's still a very interesting article. Good stuff for us future clinical researchers 🙂
 
Yes, I read the article. It seemed like there was a bit of fear-mongering going on. I mean, I know that there needs to be pretty careful oversight of clinical trials, but I don't see how a few notable failures means that there is something fundamentally wrong with the system! And until there is a better alternative to clinical trials, then there's not really much that can be done... 🙁 Other than carefully watching what's going on, and managing trials very carefully...
