It's about the recent mishaps in clinical trials and about new changes in oversight committees and proposed legislation to that effect. The picutre on the cover is a little misleading (cages? Nobody is forcing you into a clinical trial), but it's still a very interesting article. Good stuff for us future clinical researchers :)

Yes, I read the article. It seemed like there was a bit of fear-mongering going on. I mean, I know that there needs to be pretty careful oversight of clinical trials, but I don't see how a few notable failures means that there is something fundamentally wrong with the system! And until there is a better alternative to clinical trials, then there's not really much that can be done... :( Other than carefully watching what's going on, and managing trials very carefully...
