Very good article. Just another exam of the gross health care disparities in this nation and the fact that few people care to remedy the situation. 🙁

Wow what a great article. I'm from the South (SC) and I've seen everything in this article first hand. Even did an internship at a Family Health Center...and it's sad. Which fueled my desire to go into MFM and take the knowledge back home to the South. I always said that i would have a free clinic day at least twice a month and pray that I can get other physicians to follow suit with that. Hopefully we can get some better laws and physicians to help turn these numbers around.

I am just a starry eyed M1-to-be, but I really want to make a difference in care delivery to the poor. I am interested in opening a progressive maternity home someday in a rural area, or maybe just practicing FP/OB in an underserved area.
