That's a scary case. I wonder sometimes about the safety of extubating patients with these nasal packs or different oral packs in place for this reason. I haven't done very many T&As but is it routine for surgeons to request that some gauze pack be left in place until the patient gets to PACU? I know I have seen this with some oral surgery patients.

I'll take the 2dn degree burns and 250k$ please, unless we're talking about my mother-in-law.
