Please don't make the assumption I'm talking about bribery, by no means would I ever talk about bribery.

Either at the interview or on the application, will it make a difference if I tell the admissions I am ready or I can pay the tuition in full immediately.

I forgot where, but I am damn sure I read something similar in a credible website and they said, in some schools, it makes a whole difference.

Not sure how accurate that is, I'm pretty sure it's false but it has struck my mind several times. But then again, medical schools technically are a business so I can see how it would be beneficial to them.

Thoughts?

I don't think it matters to them if you can pay out of pocket or have to take out loans.
This.

What could give you an advantage is a sizable donation from your parents (or at least I believe LizzyM has mentioned this in the past)....but you still better have the stats to back it up.

But no, every med student pays the full tuition, so it's totally irrelevant to them and would probably make you sound snobby at an interview.

Does organ donation count? I can manage with one kidney.

I would count it. Plus, it would be personal statement gold..think about it.

Disclaimer: Neurotic premeds of the world, please do NOT read these posts and then proceed to carve out your own kidney. It is highly unlikely that it will improve your chances..probably.

Have a real doctor do the 'harvest'. Check off all clinical time as 'shadowing' hours and OR time as 'clinical volunteering'. And.. don't they DARE give that kidney to someone well off. It must be given to the underserved to check off another box for helping the underserved 🙄.

AdComs don't give a rat's ass about your paying up front or on loans. After all, if you want in, you have pay one way or another. schools make a lot more money on indirects from grants, rather than tuition anyway.
