I just checked out MCAT stats at the link below

(http://www.aamc.org/students/mcat/examineedata/pubs.htm)

and thought this was pretty interesting to note:

- In 1991 (Apr/Aug combined), 53,500 people sat for the MCAT

- In 2001 (Apr/Aug combined), 54,503 people sat for the MCAT

- In 2006 (Apr/Aug combined), 70,901 people sat for the MCAT

What does this tell me? In a 10yr span, the # of pple taking the MCAT remained nearly the same.

Yet, in the 5yr span from 2001-2006 this # increased by over 30%

sorry, but this is just insane and this # is sure to grow with the advent of computerized and shortened exams...

Maybe its all the new tv medical shows, they did start airing after the century mark :laugh:
