I just checked out MCAT stats at the link below
(http://www.aamc.org/students/mcat/examineedata/pubs.htm)
and thought this was pretty interesting to note:
- In 1991 (Apr/Aug combined), 53,500 people sat for the MCAT
- In 2001 (Apr/Aug combined), 54,503 people sat for the MCAT
- In 2006 (Apr/Aug combined), 70,901 people sat for the MCAT
What does this tell me? In a 10yr span, the # of pple taking the MCAT remained nearly the same.
Yet, in the 5yr span from 2001-2006 this # increased by over 30%
sorry, but this is just insane and this # is sure to grow with the advent of computerized and shortened exams...
