Quick interfolio question. Do I have to send each letter separately from interfolio to AMCAS in order to apply the letter IDs to them? Or do I have the option of sending all of the letters at once and assigning each letter a different ID within interfolio? Because I have my letters on interfolio all ready to go, just need my letter IDs when the applications open. <br />

I mean it's not that big of a deal...a savings of like $18 since each letter sent cost $6 to send lol...I was just curious.

I THINK you can send multiple letters at once and assign the IDs; if I remember correctly one "set" of letters costs $6 to send whether you send one or a few. It still lets you assign AMCAS IDs if you send multiple letters at once.

Regarding AMCAS IDs, don't we have to tell the LOR writers to include our AMCAS ID numbers on their letter they upload to Interfolio?

No. You can assign amcas ids later, or even send the letters to non amcas schools (north dakota in 2011).

This is correct. I had most of my letter writers submit my letters to Interfolio well before the AMCAS app opened, so obviously they didn't have AMCAS IDs on them.

So different letter IDs can be assigned to each letter being sent if I sent it as a multiple packet to AMCAS?

I believe so. I'm almost positive I remember sending multiple letters at once (for $6) and each one had a box next to it to enter in its AMCAS ID.
