Does anyone know if the PA board of pharmacy confirm the hours being reported with the pharmacist?

Or if common practice in other states where hours require reporting?

I'm not sure. I know that for our IPPEs, we're supposed to work 128 hours, but my preceptor let me go home early on multiple occasions and reported that I still worked the whole schedule. School is going to be using a time in/time out sheet now, but still if the preceptor is letting you go home early, they'll just sign you out for the time that you were supposed to leave.

Just as anywhere else, it's always safe not to lie (but I think if you're off by a couple hours, it's not a big deal).

Are you talking about the rotation or nonrotation hours? For my nonrotation hours I just estimate how many hours I do, the preceptor signs off, and that's that. I don't think anyone from the board has ever checked my hours, but they always could if they wanted to. It's better to just be truthful and to be safe.

But I heard that on rotations if the preceptor signs off early, that's OK, just go home.

Yeah, the only thing I'm worried about when they send me home early (4 hour shift instead of 8 hour shift), is the director of practice experience coming in to check on us, which I know happens at the Long Island University sites.

I was referring to non-rotation hours, the 750 thats required by PA and some other states.
