Sorry in advance if a post like this was already made. Anyways I'm so indecisive right now. I really want to pursue a career in dentistry but in Spain. I know Spanish fluently. I was wondering, if I get a bachelors degree here in the US, can I enter a dental school in Spain ? Or do I have to do everything over there? If so, how is the question. I'm only 16 but I want to be prepared and that's the reason for all the questions.

Why don't you contact a dental school in Spain and ask them? I feel like that would be the most reliable answer...

At 16, you should be "indecisive". Whether or not you pursue dental education in another country is a function of where you plan to practice.

In Spain do people typically get a bachelors then apply to dental school? I thought they immediately start the program after high school?

Dude, don't go to dental school in Spain unless you plan on staying there... Forever.

I know this guy that graduated from my high school, and he is really passionate for medicine. He decided to attend medical school out of the country straight from high school to save the 4-8 extra years of schooling in the United States. On my final semester at my university, I saw him taking introductory to biology courses. He is retaking his courses to go to medical school in the United States. After four years, he finally realize that he made a huge mistake in high school.

Even with a medical degree from a different country, you will still have to go through medical school in the United States.

I personally know a few dentists that are from Mexico and moved to United States. They are just serving as dental assistants right now.

Same, I know 3 dental assistants in America who were dentists in Mexico.

I do want to live there. I just don't know how to start the program.

I wouldn't go for it. You can go to dental school here and serve for America, and when you are free you can always provide service to Spain.

You just can't do the other way around.

I would just wait until you are 20 or so to realize what you want. I used to be pre-pharmacy, but didn't like the field after working at a pharmacy office.

Yea I have time to think about it but I do appreciate the help

You cant just go and provide services in Spain, because your american education would not be good enough there the same way european education is not good enough for the USA. Try asking in the international dentist thread - you may find someone from Spain, but easier to just contact one of the schools in spain
