I'm really curious. I've heard some cool stories from pre-meds who've been abroad, whether for the summer or a semester. some have worked in health policy research, volunteered at a hospital, started programs, worked in education/sanitation/nutrition.... the list is endless. but each has gained tremendously in terms of experience with health issues and more generally, in terms of renewing one's perspective on life. Care to share your stories if you've gone abroad? i think they'd be interesting reads for everyone. what did you do? anything unusual/funny happen?
