hi, im about to graduate from pharmacy school from the east cost, graduating in may of 2012.

Because i am international student (on F1 visa) i need chain pharmacy or hospital to sponsor me H1B visa in order for me to work as a pharmacist!

I am really worried because there seems to be no jobs out there even for citizens or permanent residents of us (my friends who are us citizens working for chain pharmacy as an intern are getting laid off...)

I do not know where to start to look for companies who is going to sponsor me H1B visa.

I heard big chain pharmacy such as Walgreens and CVS (and many other) stopped sponsoring H1B for pharmacist this year because of economy and surplus of pharmacists..........

Anybody who is international or knows someone like me, please help me out! im really desperate! Thank you in advance!

PS. I am international student however, ive been in the states for 10 years (went to middle, high school and college here so I speak fluent English)

will you work for $19.75 per hour as a pharmacist if an employer sponsors you?

I think there is something called a prevailing wage. It's a law to prevent such thing. However, I would definately work for the lower end for pharmacists's prevailing wage. And I am willing to pay for my own processing fee for H1B visa and the lawyer fees and such (considering its really hard to find a job out there)

I don't think I have a choice... Do you know anything about companies who is willing to sponsor?

Walgreens flat out refused to do it 4 years ago. I would check with independent pharmacies. H1B sponsored by employers are not guaranteed, so you should have a backup plan. Perhaps earning your US pharmacist license and go back home to practice could be an option. :luck:

Hi, have you been able to find a place to sponsor H1B for you?

That is illegal.

I can almost guarantee that nobody on the east coast will sponsor you. As others have said, you need to have a back-up plan. Other than that, maybe a very rural, non-desirable location (ie at least 100 miles away from any major city.)
