I have seen the international practice rights of US trained DOs, but what about MDs? Where can they work internationally? Is there a list or a map?

I would think that each country ( just like the US does) will have steps you would have to complete to be able to practise in the country, vis-a-vis legalities and whatnot.. Having an American MD will, I think, carry a lot of weight since the US is considered to have one of the, if not the best educational standards in the world.

A bigger question to ask is "Should they be able to without additional training and certification?" Medical practise in comfy, cushy, tech -savvy and tech heavy America =/= medical practise in Bangladesh....

In Hong Kong all foreign trained physicians including US MDs must pass a hard exam and do a internship in HK for one year. The HK's system follows the UK's so I suspect the requirments maybe similar if not the same.

You have no rights to practice outside of the state within which you are licensed. You have to meet the requirements of every state or nation you want to obtain a license. An MD might get you partway there for certain countries, but in many cases you would need to take a test or do additional training. There is no global list/ map. you need to pick a country and look up it's licensing requirements. It's silly to compile a list of a thousand countries.

Ok 1000 "jurisdictions". Eg You'd need 50 licenses just to practice in all of the US. My point is there isn't a global set of rules, you need to pick where you are going and see what the rules are. Let's not miss the Forrest for the trees.
