Hi, I have an interview next week for a pharmacy school. I have question that if they ask me what i see my goals in the future, what should I answer?😕
I will answer that I have 2 options, first if I have a family or the permit to work in the US, I will work as a pharmacist in here. Another option that if I come back my country, after finish PharmD degree, I'm gonna try to complete MBA degree then come back my coutry to open a my own pharmacy store, and import the medicines in the US also other countries. How does it sound? I'm honest that It's the true that I plan in my future. Please give me an advise!! Thank you sooo much.🙂

In my experience of interview for jobs, I answered as if I was a local resident. Usually they didn't even know I was an international student, although my application said so.
Keep in mind that there is a reason why schools accept more in-state than out of state students. They usually assume that in-state students will end up working in state and support their community.
I can't tell you what is right or wrong to answer. I just think that you need to be careful of the answers. It's really competitive out there.

If you do your PharmD here and then go back, there would be additional training/learning to do.

Be yourself!
With the down going economic like today, I do believe that the school would consider having more international students. You guys will pay the triple tuition which helps them a lot.
Also, be truly yourself, if you tell them your international student, they will just compare yourself to other international students, which will be less competitive. (think about it).
Good luck!

Hi, ashathat!

I had an interview on November. One of the interviews have asked exactly the same question about the future plan. Honestly, I had the same options as you have. It also was a future plan, so who knows and who would guarantee how my future would change,,, Therefore, I mentioned both of my options. Because of status of international student, the both options are understandable.
However, I cannot say which option is right or wrong. Just be way you are. In my opinion, saying both of the options would not put you in a trouble.
Good Luck!

I am int' student in pharmacy program. I advice you not doing the Pharm.D even if you want to go back to your country. It is a big risk of investment. You can make more money if you invest these money to something else.

Thank you everyone about your advises!😍 I think I will tell both options that I planned! I get more confidence now.🙂
