Hey there everyone,

I'm going to be a D3 in the fall, and in my school that's usually when new international students enter our class for the summer semester. My school takes in about 10 students every year (not sure if that's a lot or not) but I was wondering how that affects class rank for everyone else in the class. We're currently finishing up our "virtual" summer classes and they were pretty easy so I would imagine that the 10 international students would get all A's. My question is do schools usually factor international students in the class rank just after one semester compared to students that have already done 2 years of school, or do they have their own class rank just for the international students?

I'm only asking cause I'm not the smartest guy in the block (currently ranked 25/66 in my class without the international students, 3.4 GPA and no + or - system) but I work my butt to get the best grades that I can in my already hyper-competitive class and I'm scared that this will affect my chances of getting into residency when I apply next year. I'm thinking of doing OMFS but given my mediocre class rank, I might do an internship year if my CBSE score is average.

That's a question for your school admin. Every school does it differently, some schools rank their international dentist class separately, some schools don't.
