Class rank is 35-40 ish out of 100 and CBSE is 81EPC. Faculty at my school said my rank is gonna hold me back despite my cbse score. Am I really that cooked, I thought I would have been able to get some interviews at least. I'm also worried I wont get into a 4 year program since I hear that the 6 year programs care more about the CBSE and the 4 year programs have more of a 50/50 balance between rank and cbse. I really would love to avoid the extra 2 years of extra debt and studying/time if possible. I hope I don't come off as a douche I know my cbse is good but everyone and their mom seems to be top 10-20 rank everytime I ask, which is getting me super scared.

It will not hold you back much if at all, you will kill it.

I am top 20% low 70s CBSE and got interviews at roughly 75% of programs I applied to including almost all of the 4 years I applied to.

Round out your application, you did your best on academics and that box is checked.

The applicant pool is not like it was during covid.

You’ll match assuming you’re a normal person.
