Hello SDN. I've lived in Canada for many years but never got a chance to apply for Canadian citizenship. I immigrated from South Asia more than 13 years ago and finished university/high school in Canada. I am a permanent resident in Canada (for Canadian med schools, they don't distinguish between canadian citizens vs. permanent residents)
I am now realizing that some schools in the states consider Canadians more favorably than international students. Some schools like NYU don't even accept international students but do accept Canadians!! 🙁
1) Is there a chance for international students to get in with mid 3.9 GPA and a semi low first MCAT? (will write again in June)
2) Also, how much am I at a disadvantage for being an international student? I'm just regretting the fact that I didn't apply for canadian citizenship... Anyways thanks SDN
