So I have a question to everyone, particularly Canadian applicants.

I have been accepted at one dental school and is waitlisted at my top choice and do not expect to hear back until May/June. Normally this would not be an issue as I will wait it out (hopefully an acceptance) but being an international student complicates things.

Now, the school I am accepted to is looking to get me to complete my F-1 visa paperwork as soon as possible. Now if school 1 signs me up for the F-1 visa and then school 2 accepts me, how does this work? Anyone willing to provide any insight?

Not an issue. The I-20 is a form handed to immigration at your point of entry so that you get issued the F-1 visa. The I-20 form takes next to no time to issue. If accepted to school #2, you discard the I-20 from school #1 and get issued a new one from school #2.
Considering the fact that you're allowed to enter the US (as an F-1 student) a maximum of 30 days before the beginning of classes (Early July at the earliest), the I-20 won't be stamped and the F-1 visa won't be issued until then.

Ah, that is great! Thanks for such a detailed and concise response, just what I was looking for! Greatly appreciate it.

Don't mention it. You can PM me if you have any additional questions. I've tested the "Canadian citizen studying in the US" waters through and through.
