hello guys, im very much on the way now to continue my studies in germany, im in my 2nd level now studyin german and i will finish 3 or 4 levels by the time i get my degree which is more than enough. but i still want to clear some things out. i want if possible to do my internship in germany before starting my specialization because i think it would be better for me learning about germany during that time. i was just wondering if i can enroll for an internship year directly from the hospital or is that through a university faculty , and i have some contradicting info i was told before there are 2 staatsexamen and now i read some post sayin foreingers only need an oral exam?? anyway i was wondering if i can enroll in internship before doing the staatsexamen and if someone can provide me a link to the detailed courses i have to cover in those exams if i plan to study for them, because there are always differences in the courses and i havent taken physics in university at all. are there certain unified official books? i dont really mind doin my internship anywhere in germany although i have to say Berlin seems interesting "very much my style" so again thank you and hope to hear some helping news about the internship program

Socrat,
I'm not sure what you exactly mean by internship. If you are referring to that phase of nonspecializing clinical work right after graduation as it is common in the USA, UK and other parts of the world, you should know that something like this doesn't exist in Germany, as we directly begin with residency in the specialty of our choice. We do have a year of broad based clinical work called "Praktisches Jahr" or "PJ" which, however, is still part of the medical curriculum and takes place before the Staatsexamen. As a foreign MD, you will have to see how your degree is recognized in Germany. I'm afraid there is no standard answer to this. It's different from the US where you just take the same exams ( i.e. USMLE ) as the local students.

yes actually i was referring to the Praktisches Jahr i didnt realise you consider it dif from internship since its basicly the same thing , we have it over here and its called internship but its optional. and i think im gonna do it in my country because it covers more subjects. i think in germany its 4 months surgery 4 internal and 4 elective right. no gyn ped aneth psych .
anyway if anyone knows about a foreign medstudent who got into the PJ i really would like to know about the Staatsexamen. since i kinda understood the 2nd is after the PJ but still wat abt the 1st one.
and is the PJ related always to the University or the hospital.

Hello,
I am a medical student in my last year at State Medical and Pharmaceutical University “Nicolae Testemitanu” in Chisinau, The Republic of Moldova. I would like to continue my education in Germany. I would appreciate any information (if it is possible, what is the procedure, the necessary papers, where should I apply, where should I search for more information etc.). I am fluent in English, Russian and Romanian and I started to study German.
Thank you,

Hello guys

Has anybody been to Germany as Gastarzt, what is it like? Im thinking about going for some period of time in Trauma Surgery, can you explain typical day? Is it like just watching others doing stuff, or do they teach, explain and give you some work too?
