Hello, I was wondering how competitive is it to get certain specialities in University hospitals

How does applicants get ranked for training programs?

Is medical school grades the sole determinant? How about publications? Is having more publications better than having few pubs in a specific field? And what about volunteer work?

And if grades are that important how to compare with my medical school grades? Do I need to be top 50 in my school for competitive specialities?

First you need german language skills at the C1-C2 level.

Information from the Uni that i'm at

Here is a summary of the scores given to an application. Medicine is quite competitive and sometimes you have to wait a year on a waiting list.

Abiturnote (prozentuale Gewichtung 51)

Ergebnis des Tests für medizinische Studiengänge TMS (24)

Anerkannte Berufsausbildung (10)

Anerkannter Dienst (8)

Anerkannter Preis aus bildungsbezogenem Wettbewerb (7).

If you are already an MD and are asking about medical residency. Then the process is totally different
