Internship Interview Question Brainstorming Thread

Hey folks,
As I've been preparing for the interviewing process, I've been trying to think of some good questions to ask my interviewers at the end, and thought this might be a cool place to brainstorm and get some feedback.

Here are the first two questions I've got so far, I'd love to hear what you all think:

1. If you had to kill one person you've interviewed today (and it can't be me!), who would it be and why?

2. Does anyone on your staff have any unresolved sexual tension? (Bonus points if they're married to other people.)

As questions to think about and laugh about these are great. As questions to actually ask - if you asked these at my site I’d likely move you to the not to be ranked category.

I have a couple more ideas that I would be thrilled to get your thoughts on:

- You clearly have excellent taste in reading applications, which is more than I can say for the jabronis that rejected me. What are your thoughts on why those other sites are such losers?
- Would you say that you are more attractive than me, that I am more attractive than you, or that there's no meaningful difference? Please elaborate on why, and how it makes you feel.
- Is a hot dog a sandwich?

Those questions would be massively, completely inappropriate to ask. But I’m guessing from your name you mean the thread as a joke.

That being said, it is a good idea to prepare to be asked stupid and illegal questions such as whether you’re in a relationship or what you plan on doing with your uterus, because some idiotic professors actually feel entitled to be able to ask, and some current grad students have never been told they shouldn’t.

Any interviewee that asks me about personal things in an appropriate way and we get a decent convo/rapport building out of it gets bonus points. I like it, just don't cross the line.

I’ve never been able to come up with a decent answer to the hotdog question. I usually hedge by saying “it depends on what kind of bun.” Honestly, the bread quality makes all the difference.

The whole perspective that the best way to assess how people will perform is an interview AND that you should make the person extremely anxious and not able to perform at the typical level is beyond stupid.
