Internships on AMCAS

Do unpaid internships that don't exactly benefit the community (IT) count as "Community Service/Volunteer" on AMCAS. Does anyone have any experience with this?

If it's unpaid, then it's volunteer. You don't have to point out that it didn't serve the community! Just be sure that you identify the skills you used there that will help you in medical school - not just IT skills, also things like initiative, organization, etc.
