Are there any internships/ Summer Programs available for students after their D1 year? I have searched the internet and website but have not found anything useful.

yes, there is always the summer research at your school or at NIH. There is a great month long program that I did called Biodontics. Look it up on wikipedia. PM if you are interested and I will give you further information.
