Interventional Neurology as a DO

From what I understand Interventional Neurology/Neuroradiology is a fairly competitive fellowship to obtain from a neurology residency. Are those fellowships attainable as a DO? I have looked at program websites but not many publish information about their fellows and those that I did see were all MDs.

Also, what would a competitive application for an INR fellowship look like?

I don't think being having a DO degree would be a disadvantage at the fellowship level. It would be important to get into the best possible residency in which faculty are well connected and having a couple of appropriate publications during residency.

There aren't DO fellows in the programs I've come across, but I obviously haven't seen them all. As above, you're going to want to position yourself in a competitive residency that prepares you well for stroke/ICU, and then try to secure a position from there. Generally speaking, competitive applicants have experience in the suite (even shadowing), good references from within the field, and are productive in terms of research.
