interview/acceptance stats

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Hey there... I applied to KCOM as a sophmore in college (preosteopathic program), interviewed and was accepted. At that time, I had a 3.86 gpa and had not yet taken the MCAT. The next year I fell in love, got engaged, and decided that I wanted to be in KC rather than K-ville. I applied, interviewed, and got accepted to KCUMB with a 3.74 (3.65 sci), and a 24 MCAT. These are average parts of my application. The strong parts were that I have been doing a clinical research project (cool, but long story) for the last two years, have shadowed over 20 different physicians in a variety of specialties, and have volunteered out the wazoo. The low MCAT didn't even come up in the interview. I'm also from a very small town, and want to serve as a FP doc in a rural area in the future. (for real) Hope this helps... jamie KCUMB '11

I think you can find those stats on their respective websites.

Could whoever posted stats on # of interviews/acceptances/enrolled please provide the numbers for VCOM and KCOM. Thanks a lot.

i've looked on VCOM's website and can't find anything.
Okay, under Admissions information, I found that the average GPA is 3.4 and the average MCAT score is a 24. Sometimes they're hidden within the paragraph.

Enjoy.

But you're looking for admission statistics, I'm not sure. It doesn't hurt to ask them. Email or call up. They should have those stats for you since they've already begun interviews.

I think the OP wants to know what percentage of applicants get interviewed and subsequently accepted. I don't know where that information is available.

that info should be available at USnews.com (though I think it is like $15 to become a member and access info)

i am too cheap to pay... i know $15 isn't much, but i am broke and living off student loans. so if anyone is a member and would be willing to post the info i would really appreciate it.

Public libraries are free! And they should have a copy for anyone to look at this stuff.
