can anyone give me a rough estimate about how long it takes after your interview to hear back from the school about the final decisions? also, is it appropriate to ask someone in the admissions office this question the day of your interview?

thanks for your help! 🙂

A lot of schools will tell you in a starting or wrap up session on interview day. Every school is different. If you interviewed already, or will in the next week or so, remember that they aren't supposed to release answers til Oct 15/16 🙂

As mentioned above, every school is different. I personally heard anywhere from 2 to 10 weeks. Even then, schools can take as long as they want. But of course they don't want to, sometimes it just takes longer because your interviewer can't make it to adcom meetings.

alright that clears it up, thanks for the input!

Some are put on a waitlist after their interview and don't hear they've been accepted until the week before medical school starts. Some schools never communicate your status of 'waitlisted' (unless you call), and some do.
