How long should answers be during an interview? I don't want to give short answers and they think I'm not interested, but I also don't want to ramble on for 3 minutes when it isn't necessary.

If they ask “Tell me your journey” give a long ass answer. Or “why medicine” the ass is still long. If it is like “what do you do to de stress?” A minute or 2 is fine. “Favorite book” like 2 or 3 sentences.

Have you ever had a conversation with another human? If yes, just do that. Don’t ramble on for 3+ minutes. I aim for less than 90 seconds and that allows the interviewer to ask follow up questions or move on to something else.

It’s a conversation. Talk like you would with any other human.

Edit: to be more accurate, talk like a socially aware person would with any other human. Not to say you’re not socially aware, but I don’t know you lol.

Only tangentially relevant but on the note of being self aware, I thought this was funny
