Interview at GW; is it inappropriate to tell Georgetown I will be in the area?...

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
There are other threads on this topic so you might wanna do a search. My opinion: it is definately okay. I did it and it worked for me.

I actually had the same question (different schools though).

But, how do you go about it? I mean, what is the "diplomatic" way to do it? Do you actually tell school 1 that you have an interview at school 2 and will be in the area? And then sorta hope that school 1 will also decide to give you an interview?

Any thoughts would be appreciated! 🙂

It doesn't hurt to ask to schedule your interviews closer together.

I called a school yesterday, about this possibility as I was going to be on the East Coast for an interview for one school. The admissions people are pretty understanding and it seems like they will try to accomodate you.

I think if they have a good idea that you will be interviewed, you will basically find out then, but if not be prepared to hear the say your file is still under review or that your rejected(hopefully they won't be too callous).

But definately ask them about it. That' s my advice. If anyone else has an opposite opinion, please chime in.
