Hey guys,

I have a question about interview attire. Is it ok to wear black shoes with a navy skirt suit?

Also, would it be tacky to wear a red shirt underneath it? The interview is in DC, so I tought it would be appropriate?

umm black shoes is fine with navy. but i think the red shirt + navy might be too much. but tats just what i think

I think there are two threads on male and female attire...🙂

I think both are fine. I may be biased because I love red. Brings a little color to a room filled with black and white.

thats fine. but red might be a little much... maybe a nice pink?

I wore a red shirt with my black skirt suit, and that worked for me!

Plus, I love red!

I always go for some color in my suit...I think it is so boring to be in a room filled with people in black suits/white shirts.

I've worn a colored shirt (most times stripped) to every interview. Helps me stand out I think 🙂 (They were all nice colored shirts, actually some of the more expensive shirts I own...but they were definitely brightly colored).

Apparently, black shoes with a navy suit is actually the traditionally 'correct' pairing. Who knew?

Thank you for your help. I am very petite and short. I wore a black suit with a turquoise turtle neck to my other interviews. The suit was couture and the smallest size, however, I still looked like I was wearing my mom's suit. So thats why I want to go with a navy skirt suit (I bought it in high school, but it still fits really well) and only wore it two times. And it is long, hits the knees, and one-two inch above when I sit. So I dont think there will be a problem with that.

I wanted to wear red, because the interview is in DC.. and thought that might be cute?!

So thanks for the input 🙂
