Any other US MD students completely out of luck in terms of interview invites so far? I think I have quite a competitive application (although not perfect) yet I am batting 0/10 so far in terms of being invited to interview at programs that have sent out interviews (applied to 62 DR and IR programs total). All of the rationalizations I had made since submitting ERAS are slowing crumbling away. I am at a top 40 MD school on the west coast——anyone over here having similar experiences (geographic bias is my last rationalization)?

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!

Just because a school is listed doesn't mean they've sent out all of their invites. I got invites into December from programs listed well before then.

Thanks for the reply. This definitely helps ease some anxiety.

There could definitely be some geographic bias going on here. West coast people tend to want to stay on the west coast. And west coast schools tend to send their invites out later. Assuming you applied broadly (mix of mid-tier and upper-tier programs), then I'm sure you'll get many interviews and match comfortably. The AMG match rate last year for DR was incredibly high. IR is another story though --- I imagine when those statistics are published, IR will be the most competitive specialty in the match.

I feel your pain. I have really solid scores/grades with pretty substantial ECs and research. Missed out on the first and even second round of invites at several schools I considered to be totally within my reach. Definitely beginning to doubt everything as my rationalizations all slowly fail. Hoping that programs will have reviewed our MSPEs by the end of this week and will send out another wave of invites

For what it's worth, a PD has mentioned that they do not start reviewing their applicants until after the deadline for submission on 10/15, and will send out invites in November-ish. Don't know if this is common practice, but maybe expect a windfall of invites late Oct/early Nov.

I'm having similar issues. Around 8 programs that I have applied to have sent out interviews, but at this point I'll just be sending "interest" emails around the middle of the month if they haven't sent out any other rounds of interviews. Stay strong!
