is it advisable to send the admissions committee an "thank you" card or something along those lines to show appreciation for being given a chance to interview with them?

has anyone done something like this?

I think a card might be a bit much,

I sent an email to everyone that I interviewed with...hope this helps

I got accepted to all the schools and i didn't send jack. It is somewhat unprofessional. The interview is all part of the business. They are not doing you any special favors.

I'm with hematosis. No need to send anything. Won't affect your chances of getting in and they won't think any more or less of you either way. Plus, you'll be interacting with one of them a lot while finalizing your enrollment and will have more than enough opportunities to thank them for all the work they do.

My policy is to ALWAYS send thank you cards for job interviews, school interviews, residency visitations, etc. They are the extra touch that has gotten me jobs and things in the past. Most medical school advice books and job books say to write them. A lot of people don't do this anymore so I think as long as your note is short, genuine, professional and well written, it will help.

Yeah, we had Dr. Phil Ward talk to us the other day, and that was one of the things he stressed. Not typed. Handwritten.

Hand written cards are an excellent idea. I sent thank you cards where I interviewed and it probably wasn't the deciding factor for getting in, but it is appreciated.
