1) Do you have any questions about the school?

This is usually a good opportunity for you to have the school market itself to you. Think about why you applied to this school over other schools, what specifically drew you to that school. Some questions you might come up with are...

What is the school's culture like? (competitive, friendly, helpful...)?
Is there an open door policy (are the professors/administration easily accessible)?
What opportunities are there for research?
Do all faculty participate in research? (this can give you an idea of the school's priorities...research or teaching)
What percentage of students who applied for residencies were matched? What institutions were they matched at?
What is the school doing to improve over the long-term?
What do you consider to be this school's greatest strength?

Clearly, you won't ask all of these questions, and you will likely come up with some of your own. But this should help you start thinking about what is important to you about the school you decide to attend. 🙂

A lot of times you get a tour or some sort of orientation before your interview. Stay focused during these sorts of things and try to think of some questions to ask during your interview.

Also, your interviewer(s) usually tell you about themselves. Pay attention to this too and again, try to think of things to ask at the conclusion of the interview. Things you can go over are curriculum, housing, student life, etc.
