is it still worthwhile to attend interviews this late in the game or would it basically be interviewing for a spot on the waitlist? I know schools are supposed to fill up their class by March 15 according to AAMC........

of course its worthwhile to go.

schools have to offer enough acceptances to fill their class....
the keyword being offer....not everyone who is offered will take the acceptance of course....so you have chances to get outright acceptances even after march 15.

so dont close a window of opportunity by thinking you have no chance when in fact you actually might.

I suppose it depends on the school. I know a guy who interviewed in the beginning of April last year and he got accepted during the same week. I don't remember the name of the school but it's the DO school in the Kansas City area. You could always call the school and ask whether you'd be interviewing for a waitlist position.

the school is prolly not going to tell you if you are interviewing for a waitlist spot. and honestly i doubt they can say for sure unless they have given out all the possible acceptances that they can ~200 for a class of 100 for example... until then, i cant see how they can tell you..."yes our class is filled all 100 spots have been committeed to students who are guaranteed to come and so you are just here to get a spot on the waitlist."

A couple years ago I interviewed at UCI in late April (!!) and was accepted about two weeks later. So you never know!

yep! i have a friend who interviewed @ ucsd in april. she's there now. 😀

A friend of mine interviewed in April at MCV and was accepted two weeks later. It is getting much harder, but there is still hope.

My friend at Keck interviewed in March.
