So I've submitted secondaries to many schools, some like 2 months ago, and haven't heard anything. I was just wondering if anyone knew how they review applications. Should I be worried that I haven't heard from like NYU or UPenn (I'm above NYU's averages and below Penn's)? Do they review the applications in some sort of order so that the best candidates get early interviews and the rest of us have to wait? If they reviewed my application and decided that they were going to wait to see if anyone better came along, would they let me know I'm on "hold?"

It's only October. There are schools I haven't heard from in 2-3 months. Waiting is by far the most painful part of this process. If you still haven't heard from any schools in January, then you might start worrying.

Well, I've heard from 3 schools and have had/will have 3 interviews. I'm just wondering if schools have reviewed your application and want to decide whether to interview you until they review more applications will tell you that you're on hold or whatever or if they tell you nothing. Basically, is putting a decision off on your file an action that they tell you about?
