I just got an interview invite from an osteopathic school where the invite email already had me scheduled for a specific date. Is this common? I already had an interview scheduled for that date so I emailed them back saying I would need to reschedule. I hope this doesn't sour them on my application.

Yes, many schools give you one or two dates, but almost all will reschedule once or twice without being "soured." Don't worry. Just make sure you get it resolved (read: call them if they don't email back quickly).

Most schools give you a selection of dates to choose from while a handful of school send you a specific date. I don't think it would be a problem to reschedule the date...Sure it happens all the time.

The first time that happened to me (MD school) was a bit surprised, but apparently for many schools it's the norm. Since they just assigned you a date, they'll understand if you need to change it. Schools that let you pick your date tend to be less forgiving of changes.

Usually they just send you the earliest date they have available. I had to bump mine because I didn't want to fly from florida to missouri back to florida and then drive up to atlanta in a 3 day span while missing near a week of class. So, I just rescheduled it for the next available date which happened to be the next week.
