Just got an interview to University of Utah today. They surprised the hell out of me and called me while I was eating pancakes at IHOP. At 8:00 pm.

Hey Pharmtechgirl26,
I just saw this post and didn't know if I ever responded! Yes, I was on hold for an interview and then one day I checked the portal system and noticed that I had been invited! They had over 2000 applicants this year and are only going to interview 400 to fill 130 spots! Its like a 1/3, 1/4 chance of getting in! The last I heard only half of the spots had been filled, but that doesn't count all of the deadlines that haven't passed for those who have just received their acceptances!
Have you heard from them yet?

I haven't heard from them. I put my application in a while ago and was put on hold for glendale back in Oct. I keep checking my status now and again though just in case. A 3 yr program would have been great for me!

Just got an email from Creighton, Interview March 6th. 🙂
 
Got an interview invite from Creighton, finally!! The ironic thing is I'm actually in Omaha tonight and tomorrow. A friend of mine is interviewing tomorrow and I wanted to see Omaha (plus had a free airline ticket).
March 6 will probably by the date I interview, unless they can squeeze me in or something tomorrow.
 
Got an interview for USN scheduled for 03/03/2009. I am really excited!!! 😀😀😀

Anyone got any tips or suggestions?

No pharmacy related experience

Pretty numbers! UB straight up denied you??? Or were you waitlisted and then denied??

unfortunately not, i was denied w/out an interview offer...it was sad, but i have other schools to look forward to :xf:

I saw that you had tons of other interviews, I'm suprised UB didn't offer you one, your numbers are great! Good Luck at your other interviews!! 🙂

Wow..you are going to have a busy few weeks 🙂

I didn't apply to LIU, but as far as advice goes, I would say the biggest thing is to be yourself. Stay calm and collected, answer questions honestly and you'll be fine. Practice the most commonly asked questions that you can find here on SDN -- it is pretty much a gurantee that you will get asked some of those. Look your interviewers directly in the eyes, be confident and dress well.

thank you...i hate interviews, but im trying to change my perspective on interviews so that i can make most of them on the interview day...definitely hoping for the best!!

Since you said that you live about 2.5 hrs away from the school, then you won't probably need to spend a night at a hotel there right? But then again, if the interview is quite early in the morning (like around 8AM) then you'll have to get up early to drive. I'd go if it's not that of a hassle.
