What is the protocol like for interview invites?

Once they give you an offer to interview, do they provide you a set of dates that you can select from?

Or do you have to submit your own? and in this case, what is the best days/dates to schedule this (need specifics - i.e. two weeks, etc)

THANK YOU

Some schools will give you a single date no matter what, most will let you reschedule that date if necessary, some will let you choose from a handful of available dates.

Depends on the school.

For pre-December:
Some offer an invite and say to pick from a list of available dates from August-November when you accept the interview. Others give a date and ask you to confirm that you're available or to request an alternative date. Finally, some give a date and say to either accept or risk not getting one later in the cycle.

For post-December:
Not too familiar with this process as I didn't receive any interviews. Regardless, you want to interview ASAP since offers are usually given soon after interviews.

Some of the interview protocols I went through last year:

-they offer one date and that’s it

-they offer 2-3 dates and you pick one

-they give you a schedule of all available interview dates (for like 2-3 months) and let you pick one

-they tell you to call them and schedule an interview (you don’t really know what the dates are until you call to schedule)

-they say “we interview only on Mondays and Fridays, please call us to schedule your interview”

-they give you a google doc, where the sooner you fill it out, the more quickly you can do your interview. If you want a later date, just fill it out later
