Interview Invites

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
How many total interviews do you have so far?

I had two already and have two more to go. I'll turn in my rank list probably March 1st.

Had 2 and none left - just waiting on these two. Good luck on your upcoming interviews. I will definitely post if I hear back from either program.

Duke sent out rejections today 🙁 At least I know the process is over

Got my Duke rejection. I'm glad it finally came so I can stop worrying about. I think this process has taught me a lot so far. I've wanted a residency for awhile now and thought I was pretty competitive. I got a lot of rejections and I got really discouraged. I started to doubt myself.

However, this process has toughened me up. I still really want a residency, but I'm pretty much prepared if I don't match. I did the best I could with my interviews and if that isn't enough, life goes on. I decided wherever I end up, I'm going to make the best out of it and enjoy my life. 😛

Totally agree with you on this. I'd "like" your post if I could 😛

Another word I would use to describe this process is... humbling!

Ps. Just got an invite today. 🙂

👍 Definitely a great attitude! You're lucky you're done with your interviews. I still have two to go :scared:

they are not done sending out invites for phone interviews the email clearly said they had gone through a few of their apps

One interview was okay, I thought of areas where I could have improved. One interview I felt went REALLY well. I don't think I could have done any better than I did. One interview was meh. I didn't get a good vibe, so I won't be ranking that place. I have one more interview that I really need to do well on.

I most likely will rank 3 places. Outcome is not looking so hot for me. I luckily have a job lined up, but it's one I don't want, so I'll scramble and look for better options if I don't match. I can't wait for all this to be over with...

Agree! Right now I can't wait for the interview season to be over...but when it is over, I will be anxiously playing the waiting game.

Yeah, same. I'm going to relax A LOT though. Watch tons of movies and play tons of video games. 😀

I'm kinda in the same boat as you. Applied to 11 places, 3 interviews and the rest rejections. Two interviews down so far and I feel like they went well.

Let's all just keep our chin up. 🙂

For me it's like after I walked out of the interview I felt great, but as the days went by I thought of things I could have said/done better.

This is probably the best quote here. Thank you so much! With all the disappointment in rejections, I really needed this! Thank you!!! 👍

Anyone heard from University of Toledo, Columbus Regional GA or Riverside Regional in VA?

I'll post up my stats post match day to add perspective but leaving them off for now to maintain some level of anonymity

I feel your pain.

Still waiting on one, I guess...

It's somewhat jarring, especially as, going in, I didn't expect it to be so rough.

Practice being interviewed by somebody else. I practiced a lot with my husband before interviews and I really felt it helped me be more confident during interviews.

Good luck, buddy.

anybody hear from Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center in New Jersey?

Attitude takes you a lot further than aptitude can, 👍

made an account, just to ask this q:
Has anyone heard from Loma Linda University yet? Rejection? interview? phone interview?

I want to interview with them, but I've been flying around so much that I am hoping I would get a phone interview (preferable).
Is it advisable to contact the RPD and ask about it?

Did anyone get an onsite interview invite from UTSW?

yes I had an in-person interview at UTSW

No they didn't mention how many people they are interviewing.

honestly, i'm not sure how people do more than 5 interviews, especially if they're all out of state. The whole process is just exhausting.

majority of mine were semi-local (requiring max of 2 hours of traveling) so I only did a few over night trips. But even so, very exhausting

agreed! I had 3 interviews and had to create 2 new clinical topic presentations (got to reuse one for the 3rd interview) and found the prep work/research to be very tiring on top of getting all my regular work for this APPE rotation done too. plus 2 of the 3 interviews were 6-8 hour days.

Same. I did 4 interviews, and interviewing is so exhausting. Although, having that many interviews would make me feel a little bit better about matching. Doing the research, traveling, spending nights in hotels, making presentations, going and getting judged drains you after awhile. 😛
