That I don't know, sorry!
Has anyone heard from UTEP/UT Austin Cooperative PGY1 in El Paso, TX?
I havent heard back from VA Nevada. I'm so tempted to email the resident and ask when they will tell us but I'm controlling it...
Great response, I wish all the RPDs think that way. After my interviews I was going crazy thinking I was "too comfortable" and not nervous enough which might come across as arrogant!!! Or don't want this bad enough!
Has anybody heard from Houston Methodist or the University of Utah
Has anyone heard from Loma Linda Univ. Medical Center PGY1?
How appropriate is it for them to ask you what other places you applied to? I got asked this on my interview last week and it took me by surprise but I did not ramble off lists of places i just said general things like "programs w X Opportunities" very brief.
as a courtesy, i've been writing thank you notes to the interviewers of the programs that I was really fond of. I have one coming up with two separate panels of 7 interviewers that are 30 min each. Would you write a thank you to each of those folks? The note would likely say the same thing for all.
I get handwritten notes from about half the interviewies - a note is going to save you from a crappy interview, and won't disqualify you if you are a great interview. But ti cannot hurt, I would take email just as sincere as a written note in today's world, althought I am not sure if everyone has this same philosophy. It you write something program specific, if may (read "may") give you a small boost if we are debating you vs another candidate.
What????? Why????I'm withdrawing from the Match, but I wanted to say Good Luck to everyone participating!
What????? Why????
I worked at a place similiar to that when in school - I really really liked it. at our place it was 9-6 m-w, no holidays, no weekends, 1.7 FTE Rph's, usually 2-3 techs/interns at all times, and our busiest day ever was 135 - I am guessing no CVS/Walmart/Walgreens can compete with that!I forgot my log in when I originally tried to reply to this, so I will now... 6 months later.
In all honestly, I withdrew because once I started interviewing and things became more "real" I just could not see myself completing a residency. Residencies are pushed HARD at my school... I know they're pushed hard at pretty much every school... but they're really pushed super super super hard. I still love the more clinical stuff we can do, but I prefer the am care/outpatient setting over the hospital/acute side, and I feel like I can still get satisfaction and make a difference with my knowledge in a setting that doesn't require a residency. Also, some hospitals in Atlanta still hire staffing pharmacists without one, and I was worried that after I did a year of residency I would still not be able to find a job in the field I wanted. I wanted to secure a long term job asap.
All of my intern experience was in retail, and honestly I like it. I am comfortable there and I know what I am doing. I thought my rotations would show me what I needed for residency, but I didn't have any really clinical rotations (except one) until February! I realized that it just wasn't for me.
I'll be working in an outpatient pharmacy inside of an am care medical center (doctor's offices at a health plan) so it worked out almost too perfectly. It did take a bit of time to get the job though.
