Any tips for students starting the interview process? I have my Interview DEC. 16 at Nova Southeastern University and was wondering if anyone could give me some tips.

I am REALLY SCARED because I don't have any Health care experience and my Undergrad major is in Criminal Justice..

THANKS GUYS !!!!😳

they'll probably just ask you why you are interested in audiology and the school, if you are interested in any specialties, strengths and weaknesses, and things like that. if you haven't done so already, look up what services the clinic offers (the more the better) or if they focus on a particular patient population/specialty program. in my opinion, students in AuD programs with their own clinics are at an advantage because of very obvious reasons.

i don't know if you feel comfortable commenting on your commitment to the field. i mean, it is a 4-year program and sometimes the task and monetary rewards are not always so glamorous, as evidently stated in a recent heated discussion on this forum. of course, your biggest reward comes when you realize how much restoring communication abilities improves your patient's quality of life.

good luck yisel. let us know how it goes. and don't worry so much about background--it's refreshing to have applicants with non-CommD majors. they think outside the box (or audiogram). 😉

I'd be careful mentioning money, even just to say it's no big deal. I think it can some across the wrong way.

I prepared for my interview by doing a google search for questions that might be asked during a graduate school interview of any type and then preparing answers for any that fit. In the end, I was over-prepared but something I said managed to impress! 😉 Good luck!

Oh, and make sure you have a professional, clean-cut outfit that will help you stand out in a good way.
