Someone asked me this question and was wondering how everyone felt about it. "If you saw one of your pharmacy classmates cheating what would you do?"

It's a touchy subject especially in small classes, for me if it was someone I was close to I'd probably approach them first and tell him or her what I saw and what I would tell the professor.

I don't know what answer they are looking for, but, personally, I'd report them (anonymously), friend or not. Lives are potentially at risk, and you may also be in competition with your classmates for jobs and pharmacy residencies.

I'd ask them to stop, and provide help if they need. There is always a reason behind everything. I'd give them a chacne at least before report them to the school/ professor.

But, if the person has no shame. Then, you know what to do without feeling guilty about it.

I have personally observed this once in my class. I went to the professor privately. I have no idea what happened after that nor did I care.

I passed the class - don't know with what grade - I don't remember that stuff.

I did what I felt I needed to do in the way I felt I needed to do it at the time. No one else knew then nor knows now - oh....except all of you😛

in real life, if i saw cheating I'd probably just ignore it and figure they'll get what they deserve in the end when they cant pass the boards. i'd definitely think less of the person and make an effort not to help them in anyway.

If they asked me the question in an interview though, I'd probably say that I'd discretely report the person to the professor and let him/her handle it. Thats probably the right thing to do, but I tend to not want to get involved in things.

I observed possible cheating last semester and made a personal note that it might be happening. I distanced myself from the student and advised the group I normally sat near in exams (just 'cause we like each other) to break up, but didn't say why. The student may or may not continue or get caught. It won't involve me.

What I saw seemed obvious to me, but it might have been an isolated and ill-conceived placement of gaze. When I ponder over exam questions, I look at the projector mounted to the ceiling. Maybe this student looks to the right. Maybe this student was staring at the exam proctor. Could be not, though...
