LECOM has an Early Acceptance Program ("EAP") for high school seniors - you apply to an affiliated undergarduate school and interview at LECOM, if you pass the interview, then you are in the EAP at the affiliated college, and if you keep the grades up, etc you are accepted into LECOM DO program in 3 years.

I am trying to get into the EAP at LECOM, I am a senior in high school and I will interview at LECOM Bradenton.

Any help on what questions to expect?

Anyone else ever did an "EAP" DO interview?

I understand that it is a group interview - does anyone know if I am with other EAP high school seniors or will I also be with college grads for the interview?

Any EAP out there? How have you found the program - did you get into medical school?

Any help or advice please?

Thank you in advance!

Don't do it. It's far too early in your life to be committing to a particular medical school. You have no idea where you'll be our what you'll want to do as a specialty a few years down the line. Just my two cents.

I completely agree with this.

That said, most of those programs with LECOM and undergrad schools aren't binding. If that's the case, there's no harm in doing it, because in the end, you can just change your mind and apply wherever you want. If it's not like that, and it is binding, then don't do it.

If any school has some sort of binding clause it would be LECOM.

To the OP just kick butt in UG and go to your state MD school.

I know people who have done this. Also there's like 5-8 colleges near me that have this same deal with LECOM. It's essentially a track that you can do to get in early, but it's up to you whether you do it or not. The incentive is all about the not having to apply elsewhere and saving a year of undergrad, not some binding thing. You still have to apply through AACOMAS in 3rd year to get accepted, but it's more a formality if you fulfill the requirements (e.g. for some of the programs in my area its 3.5 HS GPA, >1170 SAT, 3.3+ undergrad GPA, and 24+ MCAT w/ 7+ in each section, etc.).

If that's the deal, by 3rd year and after taking the MCAT, they should know if they'd be better off applying elsewhere or not (i.e. if they get a 24 on the MCAT vs. a 30, etc.).

I'm sure there are variations, which is why OP should look into their program. If it is binding, it's not worth it, if it isn't, it's a perfectly fine safety net.

You might want to bring the contract to a lawyer for review. It will cost you money but could save you so much more.
