Is it standard to send a thank you note/email to each interviewer?
Thank you,
Thank you,
It's nice, but no. Some people on this forum might think you're sucking up. But I say go for it.idoc2b said:Is it standard to send a thank you note/email to each interviewer?
Thank you,

Send a short note to the admissions office thanking them for their time, and for the opportunity to interview and see the school. If you came across anyone who was particularly helpful, briefly mention them. What I would not do is send a letter directly to the interviewer and be over the top nice about how much you enjoyed being grilled by this person. That's going too far, in my opinion. I sent a letter to ICO after my interview, and it obviously didn't hurt, because I was accepted! Good luck...

Thank you,

ariel winter said:hmmm... i think that's the point i'm trying to make though. a thank-you letter - if it is indeed genuine and sincere - should be appropriate even after a rejection. if you are truly grateful for the opportunity and time the interviewer and school has taken to review your file, interview you, etc... even if their final decision is to reject you, a thank-you letter should still be sent, no? in my opinion, if a person sends a letter before he or she is accepted, there exists a certain degree of insincerity or falseness in his or her thanks. however, this may be put up for debate. the point is, if one is unwilling to send thanks after he has been rejected, he should not send a letter at all. good luck! 🙂
prettygreeneyes said:Well, let's just agree to disagree. I sent a thank-you card to ICO after my interview, and be it insincere or false, I was accepted. My thank you card was not to the admissions committee to thank them for reviewing my file, nor was it to the interviewer to thank him for giving me the toughest hour of my life. It was to the nice people in the admissions office for helping me relax and enjoy myself, and to the students who gave me the tour. I honestly feel that sending a thank you card after being rejected from a school is dishonest... what are you thankful for???? I know you have already been accepted to NECO, and I assume you didn't send a thank you card after the interview. I've been accepted to ICO and I did. The original poster can read our remarks and make his/her decision accordingly. 🙂
