Few quick questions so I can plan for the rest of the year:

When do interviews usually begin and end approximately?
Do you generally have interviews earlier if you complete the app early or is it based on the random timeline of each school?
Do the schools assign specific interview days or do they give you options?
Do they ever have interviews on the weekends?

I would appreciate any info you have to share!

2. Generally yes, but every school is different
3. Depends on the schools
4. Never heard of any but most schools have them on Monday or Friday so your travel day is on the weekend.

The answer to all of your questions is that it depends on the school. I have heard of schools interviewing on Saturday (I think Drexel and a Texas school do this, but it is really rare. I would recommend against it, since I imagine the majority of students and faculty wouldn't be around).

1. late August - late April
2. Theoretically, an earlier completion of the secondary may give you an earlier interview. Realistically, there's no rhyme or reason.
3. Some schools will assign you a specific day. Others will give you certain days of the week and a range of dates, and you send them 2 or 3 on which you are available. Still others will basically let you name your date. The ones that assign dates are usually pretty flexible about rescheduling, but sometimes your rescheduled date will be a month or two later than the original date.
4. The Texas school that has a Saturday interview is UT Southwestern. All my others were usually on Wed/Thu/Fri, mostly because I picked those days to give myself short school weeks 🙂

My entire fall semester was pretty much consumed by interviews (I'm not complaining) and it was definitely a challenge to maintain my GPA. Still, not impossible, and interviews are actually kind of fun in a strange way. 😳

In regards to your last question, yes some schools do interview on weekends (I had a few Saturday interviews) but I think the majority interview on weekdays. So it depends on the school.

Thanks for all the feedback. I am postbach, so I have to work out conflicts with my work schedule. This helps me plan, well, actually it helps me to realize that there isn't much I can do to plan.
