What are interview socials and which schools have them?

MCW has a Thursday night social (night before), and they fed us wraps/chips/drinks and had a panel of students for Q&A. then we matched up with our student hosts.

Creighton is doing a Friday night dinner....i guess i'll find out more this friday 😀

hahah, but seriously, some of these medical students abuse alcohol (they go binge drinking) probably from too much stress. And i'm not talking about the typical college student binge drinking (drinking for no reason, which is OK) but they drink because of stress and depression.

At least two of the Texas socials are distinctly alcohol oriented: UTH and UTSA at Kelvin Arms and Flying Saucer respectively.

Very smart. Sometimes annoying. First year med student at MCW and seems to lead tours at the medical school. Posts alot. Usually helpful. Arrogant occasionally. Your Avatars are very similar. He has been around alot longer than you so perhaps you should ask his permission. I am sure that you will hear from him soon.

Yeah, did you come in the airport shuttle? I mostly hung out with the other airport people. Also if your last name comes after M, I totally wasn't allowed on that side of the room on Friday.

yea, i came on the shuttle. Other airport people? that group was definitely not as cool then. My last name is a pre-M, so I was on your side....that cuts it down to 29 other people 🙂

i'm pretty sure the dinner is for everyone. it was just in one of those emails....the one titled "Host Committee of Creighton University School of Medicine". i wonder if we have to be dressed up for this. i'm thinking i'm just going to wear jeans and a nice shirt since that's how everyone was basically dressed at the mcw social

i'm sure we'll figure out who we are pretty quickly....girl from Indiana...boy from Connecticut 🙂 or we can have a winking system, so you just wink at every person until they wink back! sure, the others not in they system will either be very afraid...or very interested....but they won't wink back, so they are obviously not cool SDNers
