Any advice on where to purchase a decent quality suit for upcoming Rads interviews? I have my old one from med school interviews that looks like crap and want to upgrade.

There will be a lot of sales this time of year. Something like Nordstrom Rack and Saks Off Fifth aren't bad places, you'll probably need some alterations unless you are very lucky. Expect to pay 3-400 for a good suit, I'd get something charcoal, navy, or dark medium grey, pair it with black captoes, a black belt, light pastel shirt and reasonably conservative tie and you'll be good to go. Pocket squares/tie bars are +/-.

macy's is great.

i have a question, so I bought a very dark brown suit with a faint blue windowpane. I know the traditional is solid black or solid navy, but it is a rather conservative suit.

is this fine? granted this is the charcoal version of my dark brown one.

The only reason I am curious is because I went to my first interview and everyone was wearing a black suit (+/- pinstripe) except me.

That's probably fine, especially since you already have it, I doubt it'll make/break anything.

Also keep an eye open for those buy 1 get 1 type sales at Men's Warehouse or similar places. They are kind of a midrange in cost, but you can easily double up on fairly good quality stuff for a reasonable price. Many of the people working there are pretty good at setting up different combinations. I got free tailoring with my last suit too.

Got 2 suits (one charcoal, one navy) from there with one of those sales. They were also very helpful in choosing shirt/tie combinations and the right shoes.

I'm not devoid of fashion sense but they were good about choosing appropriate stuff for interviews.
