Hi all,

I am looking at the possibility of scheduling an away rotation from Oct 25-Nov 20 because this is the only slot available. I'm doing the away so I can live with my S.O. for a month in the city he lives in.

Will this get in the way of interviews too much? I should have all of December and January free. I am planning to do about 15 interviews because I have S.O. factors to consider with his job and trying to be where he is.

When were your first interviews for ER?

Thanks!

You should be fine as long as you stay on top of the offers as they come in and schedule them ASAP as there are typically several dates offered in the email. I ended up interviewing at 11 places, and had the first on Monday of Thanksgiving week. I also had all of Dec. and Jan. off, and had no problems other than canceling two due to weather (would have done 13, and I didn't have an overly horrible travel schedule).

I did an ICU rotation (with no time for interviews) in November and had no problem doing 14 interviews. If I had it to do over again, I would probably have scheduled a few less, but I felt like it was better to be safe than sorry.
